Signs -this week, publish an image of a sign — from the signs you encounter on the street to more personal, less obvious signs that hold meaning for you.

Jaimala is the sign or symbol of unifying two souls into one. Indian marriage is not considered complete till bride and groom exchange garlands.

Jaimala is made of flowers and threads. The flowers symbolize happiness, excitement, zeal, aspirations and thread the medium to bind all these emotions.

    1. Thanks Mabel. The fun part in this picture – the girl is sitting on a small wooden plank, her brothers are holding the plank while she is trying to put the garland on. poor bride she is in mid air, praying her brothers won’t let go of the plank 🙂
