Daily Prompt: Only If

My husband is not in town. He’s miles away in another country. And it’s our 10th wedding anniversary today. Sob..sob 😦

It’s weird, but if we were together here today, I would have loved to do this –

A bus ride to the old city market; solemn faces, sleepy nodding heads, grinning school boy.

The criss- cross of narrow cobbled lanes;push, jostle, get lost in the crowd.

Colorful knick knacks hang outside small shops;stretch out and give the wind chime a little nudge.

The huge mounds of marigold, chrysanthemum, tuberose in big cane baskets – what riot of colors !(Maybe , he’ll buy me a red rose ).

On the footpath sits the old astrologer and his parrot ;stop by him and listen to his prediction.

Plop ! Plop ! raindrops hit the dusty pavement; run for cover.

The strong smell of filter coffee fills the old coffee shop; seat back and relax.

Wander and get lost again, this time down the memory lane.
